For environments with difficult operational conditions, where standard commecrial monitors do not possess the necessary parameters, industrial monitors are used instead, which are suitable for use in heavy industry. The main difference between a commercial monitor is not only its quality construction, ensuring improved resistance for a long-term maintenance-free operation and eventual easy repairability, but also high mounting flexiblity and last but not least the option for touch control. Monitors are equipped with a VGA and DVI port, possibly LVDS, other interfaces are being added, such as DisplayPort or HDMI. There is also the option to connect a touchscreen to a PC thanks to the USB or RS-232 interface. For touchsreens, resistive technology is used most often, but there are capacitive, projected capacitive, SAW or infraredtouchscreens as well.
